A New Look for Trust Care

Using Dementia Furniture to Create a New Look for Trust Care

Hill and Hill Design were approached at the NEC Care Show by an independent care provider to supply dementia furniture and care home lounge furniture to go along with their new extension.

The design brief was to use the colour scheme of their existing building while still giving the new extension a fresh contemporary feel.

The new wing is to be used for dementia care, so careful consideration had to be paid to all of the furnishings. Our Hockley dementia furniture range was chosen for the bedrooms. The Hockley range features scooped drawer fronts with open hanging spaces in the wardrobes to give greater visibility to the contents within.

We used cheerful fire retardant curtains and quilted bedspreads combined with warm coloured Danfloor carpets to give the bedrooms a lovely homely feel.

Hill & Hill Design have since been commissioned to refurbish a number of other care homes owned by the group, with plans to capitalise on the success of this project and use the same colour palettes and dementia furniture as this brief to achieve successful results elsewhere.

The residents and staff in the care homes are very happy with the new furniture and curtains especially Steve the rather large resident cat.
