NHF Calls for New 'Care Ready' Homes
Posted on - 1st May 2015
The National Housing Federation has warned that thousands of new 'care ready' homes need to be built to deal with more older patients waiting for home adaptations and care arrangements in the future. It fears the NHS will will be stretched to breaking point unless more nursing homes as well as regular homes are designed for later life. They are expecting a further 3 million people to be in need of this by 2030. And, well over half of over 55 home-owners have said their home would need to be significantly adapted should they develop mobility issues or Alzheimer's.
