Dementia Care

With over 80% of residents in care homes suffering from dementia and severe memory impairment design for dementia has never been more important.

With the elderly remaining in their homes for longer they tend to be admitted to a care facility at a much later stage of the disease. Facilities in care homes today are varied in quality ranging from award winning dementia units right down the scale to institutionalised care homes barely able to cope.

Research is constantly being made into designing products that can help both the residents and the carers manage the illness.

Above all else a person suffering with dementia needs to be able to be as independent as possible for as long as possible.

Here at Hill & Hill Design we design for the needs of the resident and create a welcoming and homely environment.
