Dining Room Occasional Furniture

Sideboards

The most comfortable care homes have been designed to look more like a traditional home than a corporate or clinical setting. With this in mind, why not fill your dining room with some stunning occasional furniture. Making your residents feel right at home.
Not to mention a great storage space for your crockery, cutlery and other items that may not have a home in your kitchen.

Simple Sideboards

Here at Hill & Hill, we have a selection of stunning sideboards that can help make your dining rooms or lounges look completely brand new!
Sometimes we just need a little extra storage in a room but don’t want anything that takes up the higher wall space used for pictures, mirrors and even clocks. That’s when a sideboard is a perfect piece.
Our most popular piece is the Cavendish Large Sideboard. This stunning piece consists of 3 wide doors, which are perfect to house storage boxes and baskets where a collection of things can be stored.

Delightful Dressers

Many of your residents will have had a dresser of some description in their home. Some will have been filled with the finest china that they received on their wedding day. While others will have filled it with pictures of the kids, the grandkids and maybe even the pets.
So you might question whether they are a necessary addition to your care home furniture. The answer is to try and maintain some sense of normality for the residents when they move into a home setting.
Filling your dresser can be anything from pictures of residents, maybe their families, or even artwork that they have done during activities within the home. However, you use the space, make it all about the residents.
The cupboards underneath make for a great space to put art supplies away too if your dining room doubles as the resident’s creative space.
Our favourite is the Large Ashcroft Dresser. This stunning piece fits in well with a range of our other furniture.

Top Tables

You may have found the best occasional furniture, but have you got the right dining tables to suit them?
In some nursing homes, we know that it is preferred to have rectangular tables as they offer just that little more surface space. Such as the Devonshire Rectangular Dining Table. However, we know that mobility is not always at its finest for many residents. Which makes our personal favourite the Ashcroft Round Dining table. The round edges reduce the risk of painful bumps and bruises should a resident stumble as they approach the table.

Nursing home furniture can sometimes be tricky to find. We know how important it is to get high-quality furniture for your residents to have the best support and comfort they possibly can. Don’t forget to take a look at our collection of care home chairs today, to help residents to settle in your care home.

As with our own homes, our care homes should have just as much individuality and style as possible. Here at Hill & Hill, we hope we can help you to make this a possibility. So why not get in touch with the team today and we can help you to pair your occasional furniture, with your everyday chairs and dining sets.
