Throughout the month of May, many people, particularly those in and around care homes, support National Stroke Month. In conjunction with the Stroke Association, supporters help to raise awareness of strokes and the impact that they can have on individuals and their families by making May Purple.
Fundraising And Awareness
During May many care homes, families and other organisations and individuals get together to help raise money and awareness for the Stroke Association to help fund research and help to support families. Unfortunately, as the UK are in the midst of a pandemic, we are all changing out how we go about raising awareness.
This year, everyone is encouraging you to go digital. Whether this means that you and your residents watch the fundraising activities of other organisations, or you gather together your residents to create their own awareness video for friends and family to view.
Turn Your Care Home Purple
Sadly, many care homes will be the permanent home of an individual who has suffered from a stroke, or many residents will have had a family member who has been affected by a stroke. So why not help to add some of that purple awareness to your care home. Our Ashton High Back Armchair perfectly displays one of the stunning purple colour choices that we have available (please note we can cover any chair in this fabric, or indeed this chair in any fabric from our range). Adding that splash of purple helps to raise awareness when we can welcome guests back into the care home.
Swapping Out Furniture
Swapping one or two chairs out for a stunning purple chair might have you considering other chairs that are due for an upgrade. Ensure that your residents are as comfortable as they possibly can be with new and supportive lounge chairs. Each of our chairs is covered in an easy to clean fabric, helping them to stay as hygienic as possible. Our range of fabric now includes the Panaz ShieldPlus, which has microbial properties and can help to reduce the risk of Coronavirus.
