The Chinchero Collection
The Chinchero Collection takes its name and inspiration from the Andean village of Chinchero — often called “the birthplace of the rainbow” — a place celebrated for its rich weaving heritage and vibrant textile traditions.
Rooted in the artistry of Peruvian and wider South American design, this collection pays homage to cultures where pattern, colour, and craftsmanship are woven into everyday life. In these traditions, textiles are more than decorative — they are storytelling mediums, carrying history, identity, and meaning through every thread.
South American textiles, particularly those of the Andes, are steeped in symbolism. The bold diamonds and stepped geometrics seen in Mapuche and Chakara designs echo ancient motifs of mountains, horizons, and sacred pathways. Meanwhile, the rhythmic zigzags of Andes recall traditional ikat weaving techniques and the flowing movement of rivers cutting through highland landscapes.
The Chinchero Collection celebrates this legacy through contemporary interpretations of time-honoured forms — blending heritage, craftsmanship, and modern interior design to create textiles that are both meaningful and enduring.
Amazonia, the lush botanical print, channels the abundant flora of the region, bringing a tropical vibrancy that complements the structured geometry of its companions. Supporting stripes and small-scale weaves such as Puerto, Inti, and Paso evoke the practical, simplicity of hand-loomed cloths traditionally used for everyday life. Colour is central to the Chinchero story. Across palettes of Cinnamon, Tourmaline, Stonewood, Sapphire, and Sage, the collection reflects both the earthiness of natural dyes and the brightness of folkloric celebrations.
Amazonia, the collection’s lush botanical print, captures the abundant flora of the region, infusing interiors with tropical vitality and organic movement. Its flowing leaves and layered forms provide a soft counterpoint to the structured geometry of its companion designs, creating a balanced and versatile textile story.
Supporting stripes and small-scale weaves such as Puerto, Inti, and Paso reflect the understated practicality of traditional hand-loomed cloths — textiles crafted not only for beauty, but for everyday life. Their rhythmic patterns and tactile character echo the simplicity and authenticity of artisanal weaving techniques passed down through generations.
Colour lies at the heart of the Chinchero narrative. Across palettes of Cinnamon, Tourmaline, Stonewood, Sapphire, and Sage, the collection draws from the warmth of natural dyes and the vibrancy of folkloric celebration. Earthy ochres, mineral blues, forest greens, and sunlit terracottas come together to honour both landscape and heritage — resulting in fabrics that feel grounded, expressive, and enduring.

Historically fire retardant fabrics have been very uninspiring and institutional in their design. Fortunately for the interior designers amongst us boring fire retardant fabrics are a thing of the past.
Contract fabric companies are forever launching new collections full of coordinating designs printed onto robust base cloths. Your care home can now have that boutique hotel look in the knowledge that you are meeting all the legal flame retardent requirements.
Why Inherently Fire Retardant Fabrics?
There are no requirements for flame retardancy of any drapes used in domestic or private residential environments however any drapes used in a care home or nursing home setting is subject to flame retardant requirements.
In the past interior designers have treated standard domestic fabrics with a fire retardancy solution. This is fine for a temporary solution where the curtains will be dry cleaned. The treatment is non existent after 4 or 5 washes.
From October 2006 all non- domestic premises in England, Wales and Scotland are required to comply with a new fire safety order.
